IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – Security Exhibition & Conference 2020 OFFICIALLY CANCELLED UNTIL 2021
The 35th edition of the Security Exhibition & Conference has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic and will next take place from 21 to 23 July 2021, in Sydney at the ICC. After many weeks of talking to the industry and consulting with our partners regarding suitable rescheduled dates in Q4, we have made the difficult decision that at this present time, in the interest of the health and safety of our community, cancellation is unavoidable.
What we are experiencing is new territory for everyone, so strong judgement, market knowledge and responsible planning are crucial to managing the situation. As always our aim is to provide a platform for our industry to grow, learn and do business safely. We continue to be grateful to our community – our exhibitors, speakers, partners, visitors and venue in the Security industry for your continued support and patience during this unprecedented time.
It is fortunate that we live in an age of technology that allows us to conduct business remotely and in this new social distancing world we are in, we will look to build on our already established and successful digital communications. These are proven ways to continue a connection with our target audience. Our Security newsletter, dedicated emails and website will continue to be a channel through which the entire industry can connect and share. We have an engaged audience of over 20,000 professionals representing the entire supply chain with real buying power.
We will also look to adapt and introduce new opportunities for connection over the coming months bringing together suppliers and buyers in the Security industry. As a result our existing online presence will be enhanced over the coming weeks.
The present climate is one of uncertainty, but you can be assured that we’re meeting daily and will keep you informed. We will continue to communicate and update you via email for significant changes and announcements. As the situation continues to evolve, you can stay up to date with all the latest information and next steps for exhibitors on our FAQs page.
The strength of this community will persevere beyond Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are in this together!

SECURITY 2020 POSTPONED
After many weeks of monitoring the evolving situation around Coronavirus (COVID-19), talking to the industry and consulting with our partners, we have made the difficult decision that the Security Exhibition & Conference will no longer take place on 22 – 24 July 2020. The success, as well as the safety, of our exhibitors and visitors, has always been our priority and this continues to be the case.
We put our customers at the heart of what we do, and this decision has been particularly difficult due to the importance of this event to our industry. Many companies rely on it to meet new and current customers. However, following the recent Government advice on social distancing, travel restrictions, and the logistics required before the event, postponement is unavoidable. We are in uncharted territory and carrying on with the current dates would not be in the best interests of you or the rest of our community.
NEXT STEPS
We are committed to finding a solution to deliver an event in Melbourne this year, to ensure business continuity to the security industry. Details on when and where will be communicated directly with our community in the next month.
Please look for important communications from Diversified Communications and vendors that will include logistical details resulting from the postponement. We are committed to supporting the security industry and our customers by offering the option to credit any deposits towards the future 2020 event. Our team will be in contact shortly with more information about exhibiting options for 2020 and beyond.
We fully understand and appreciate the level of planning that is required to attend the Security Exhibition & Conference and would like to thank you – our exhibitors, speakers, partners, visitors, and the venue for your continued support and patience during this difficult time.
We will continue to support our community in any way we can and thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. The strength of this community will persevere beyond Coronavirus (COVID-19).

For further information and queries, please contact the Security Exhibition & Conference team.
We urge our exhibitors and visitors to refer to the guidelines and protocols as suggested by The Australian Department of Health and the World Health Organisation.

COVID-19 Coronavirus: information for our customers
As we prepare for another successful edition of the Security Exhibition & Conference, we understand that you might have questions about the 2020 event as it relates to COVID-19. In following the advice from the Australian Department of Health and the World Health Organisation, the organisers of the Security Exhibition & Conference (Diversified Communications Australia) continue to monitor the current situation daily regarding the outbreak of COVID-19 and we confirm that Security 2020 will proceed as planned.
Customers who wish to participate in our events and who are not impacted by travel restrictions are free to do so. Travel advice and entry guidelines varies from country to country and our event attendees are encouraged to check the latest travel advice before making arrangements. Our policies reflect the travel restrictions and guidelines of the Australian government.
We have additional precautionary measures in place, including enhanced cleaning and sanitization across all public areas and customer touchpoints in the show and we are constantly reviewing our health protection activities, public health messaging, hygiene and medical control measures.
We will remain vigilant and continue to monitor the situation and respond appropriately to protect the health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and staff. This is our number one priority.
At this stage, the risk of transmission in Australia is low. Australians should therefore be alert but not alarmed.
Diversified Communications has been responding to public safety situations for many years and has an effective crisis management protocol in place. Our team has taken extra precautions this year with vigilance around hand sanitation and respiratory hygiene to ensure your health and safety, and this is outlined in the section below. We have great confidence in our partnerships with the cities and local authorities where our events take place. As this is evolving, we will continue to provide regular updates as and when they become available and will continue to take precautions as recommended by relevant state and federal authorities.
With that being said, we are continuing to plan the very best event possible for you and look forward to seeing you at Security 2020.
