Wrapping Up 2020

Dec 15, 2020

A Christmas message from the Security Exhibition and Conference team.

2020 was the year no one was expecting. COVID-19 saw many changes to all parts of the world and both the security and event industries were no exception.

The overnight demand for thermal imaging technology, touch-free biometrics becoming the norm and public safety at the forefront of everyone’s mind, was just the beginning of many changes for the security industry.

As a result of COVID-19, the global thermal imaging market size is now projected to reach US 4.10 billion by 2027, a projection significantly accelerated due to the pandemic.

Closer to home, the postponement of the 2020 edition of the Security Exhibition and Conference saw the team pivot to new ways to connecting the industry from afar through a range of digital offerings.

“2020 was a challenging year for everyone, and we would like to thank the Security industry for their support during these difficult times”, said Security Exhibition and Conference Product Manager, Soren Norgaard.

“We can’t wait to reconnect the industry in-person in 2021”, he continued.

Planning for 2021

As we look toward 2021 with a sense of optimism, planning is in full swing for the 34th edition of the Security Exhibition and Conference.

“We are proud to be able to unite the entire security industry together in-person once again in 2021. 80% of the floorplan is already booked, showing the industry’s readiness to reconnect,” said Norgaard.

For the first time in 2021, Security will be co-located with sister exhibition Integrate – Australia’s premier audio-visual exhibition.

“This co-locate comes at a time where both industries begin to converge closer together, bringing a greater opportunity to those exhibitors who normally exhibit at both events,” he continued.

The ASIAL conference will continue to run as normal during the event with industry leaders set to present across the three-day showcase.
