This session outline two different presentations, the first is Security 2025 - a roadmap for the future: Given its size, scope and increasingly important role as part of Australia’s national security mix, there is an imperative for the industry to continually evolve and further professionalise to build capability and capacity. The presentation will identify key drivers to industry growth and sets out the way forward to shape an innovative, responsive, professional and respected industry.
The next presentation is Building Security Capability and Capacity - Issues, Challenges and Opportunities: The unequivocal findings following decades of discussion and consultation with the government, numerous inquiries and research studies is that we need nationally consistent security licensing standards. To advance professionalism, and build security industry capability and capacity, action is required now. The presentation will outline ASIAL’s strategy to advance the implementation of a single ‘Model’ national law for the regulation of the private security industry.
