Jim Fidler

Jim has 30 years’ experience in the realms of Crowd Management and Public Order having prior to moving to Australia was part of the Metropolitan Police (UK) Public Order Unit.
Jim is the director of Secure Events and Assets that specializes in Crowd Management and Major Events across Australia, Jim also provides specialists consulting in Crowd Management and Security. Based in Sydney Jim has been involved with virtually every touring festival in Australia and has also provided security and crowd management services for the Touring industry, with such acts as U2, Adele, Coldplay and Cold Chisel.

Jim is currently engaged by Glastonbury Festival as part of the Crowd and Incident Management team.
In 2007 Jim was the Venues Security Manager for the High-Risk Venues (and Search) for APEC 2007 Sydney on behalf of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, in 2012 Venue Security Manager London Olympics (Aquatic Centre) and in 2014 Spectator safety manager for the Commonwealth Games.
Jim is the Chairperson for HB183 Crowd Management for Crowded Places (Standards Australia) and on the working party for the re-release of Safe and Healthy Mass Gatherings (Australia Institute for Disaster Resilience).

As well as Operational Experience Jim has obtained University Qualifications holding a Degree in Crowd Management, Advanced Certificate in Terrorism and Political Violence (St Andrews), Diploma in Crowd Risk and other tertiary Qualifications in Risk Management and Health and Safety.
In 2014 Jim was invited to attend the College of Policing (UK) Public Order and Crowd Management Course with Avon and Somerset Police.
Jim is an Accredited Venue Manager (Venue Managers Association) and a Specialist Member of International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.
