Nick de Bont
Thales
Nick de Bont became the Chief Security Officer for Thales Australia in 2019. In this role he manages all aspects of security and compliance including the protection of multiple manufacturing facilities, large naval, air and land contracts and numerous high-level technology projects. Nick also currently holds the position of Deputy Chair of the Forum of Australian Security Executives.
Nick has held previous corporate security roles in intelligence analysis, business resilience, crisis management and protective security. Nick began his security career working within the Department of Foreign Affairs Portfolio in areas including counter-terrorism, transnational crime and international diplomacy.
Nick is an active member of the Australian Army Reserve where he is currently serving at the rank of Colonel. Nick has served overseas on operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and East Timor. Nick remains passionate about Veterans and is the current President of the Thales Australia Veterans Committee.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of International Business Nick was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2003. Nick has undertaken a variety of diplomas and practical training courses in intelligence analysis, security, risk management, personnel management and close protection.
