Responsible AI Use in Australia – Key Considerations

We are in year three of the Large Language Model revolution. Like society at large, the legal profession and the courts want to make the most of the changes that are arising from this revolution—while also seeing AI regulated in a reasonable way. But ultimately, the question is: how will this affect our society? The President of the Law Society of New South Wales, Brett McGrath, will address the legal perspective on AI. Touching on what it means to society to embrace and legislate around new technology, Mr McGrath will outline how the law is ensuring NSW leads the way in harnessing the best that AI has to offer, while navigating the risks.
