5,000+ Security Practitioners to Converge on Sydney from 24-26th July

Jul 16, 2019

The security environment in Australia has changed significantly over the past decade. Today, the national terrorism threat level remains at probable.

The scale, and breadth, of potential origins of attack requires a ‘step-change’ in thinking about the traditional role of the police in protecting the public and how that responsibility needs to be shared by the private sector.

Developing strategies to ensure a safe and secure Australia will be among the many topics to be discussed when over 5,000 security practitioners from across the region converge on Sydney from the 24th-26th July to attend the Security 2019 Exhibition & Conference.

Organised by the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL) and Diversified Communications Australia, the Security 2019 Exhibition & Conference is Australasia’s premier security industry event.

The conference program featuring local and international security experts will explore emerging threats shaping the security landscape. Among those speaking include Nick A., recently retired National Coordinator, Protect & Prepare, Counter Terrorism Policing National HQ, New Scotland Yard. The audience of senior security practitioners drawn from government, law enforcement and the corporate sector will hear presentations on the new security challenges faced and strategies to build more resilient organisations.

“The security industry is at a critical turning point as demands placed on it grow. Strengthening and improving industry capability and professionalism has become an urgent priority not just for government, but business and the community as a whole” says ASIAL CEO, Bryan de Caires. “This event demonstrates the enormous expertise and capability that already exists in the security industry and the vital role it performs as part of Australia’s national security mix.”
This is further reinforced by the extensive exhibition featuring over 130 exhibitors showcasing innovative and cutting-edge security technologies such as facial recognition, artificial intelligence, biometrics, drones, CCTV, cyber, alarms and physical security.
As part of Security 2019, ASIAL will celebrate its 50th anniversary. To celebrate this significant milestone, 500 security executives from across the country will attend a special Gala Dinner at Sydney Town Hall.
