Day 2 Wrap-Up

Jul 25, 2019

Security 2019 is setting new records, with this year trending to be the most successful in its 34 year history.

The event got off to an outstanding start yesterday, but today was even busier!

Sydney’s sunny winter weather continued for the second day of the Security Exhibition & Conference as thousands converged at the ICC, bringing together the entire supply chain of manufacturers, distributors, security professionals and end users to connect and create unparalleled business opportunities.

The latest in technology and how it will shape the future of security was front of mind.

More attendees visited Start-Up Street and Innovation Precinct, sponsored by Nirovision, watching demonstrations, voting for products like the ELI-SS from BM Doors and the UltraSync from Interlogix.

Round tables on security’s role in digital transformation and the impact of emerging technology on integration wrapped up today, with more than 30 participants having discussed common industry issues, expectations and the importance of skills maintenance.

And the brand new AI/ML Seminar, sponsored by ACES Group, explored the landscape of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in the security industry.

“Every year, data science has significant revolutions improving workflow automation and security on a broader level”.

Central Bar, sponsored by EOS, was swamped with old colleagues and new connections catching up for drinks ahead of the Gala Dinner at Sydney Town Hall, sponsored by MSS Security.

It was here that lead industry partner, the peak national body for security professionals, ASIAL celebrated its 50th anniversary with 500 security executives from across the country.

“We’re delighted to be able to celebrate this significant milestone with the industry,” ASIAL CEO Bryan de Caires said. “And we want you to know we remain committed to the introduction of nationally uniform and consistent security licencing, raising compliance and professional standards, industry collaboration and communicating the industry’s capabilities.”

Gala Dinner goers enjoyed a three course dinner, entertainment provided by comedian Vince Sorrenti and author Jean Kittson, and toasted the Best New Product Awards and Peoples Choice Award.
